The reason that fiction is more interesting than any other form of literature, to those who really like to study people, is that in fiction the author can really tell the truth without humiliating himself.

Beneath a Marble Sky: A Love Story PDF Print E-mail
 by John Shors
beneath_a_marble_sky.gifReading this book is a journey to seventeenth-century Hindustan.  It's the story of the emperor who commissions the building of the Taj Mahal as a testament to his love for his deceased wife. Princess Jahanara, their courageous daughter, recounts their mesmerizing tale, while sharing her own parallel tale of forbidden love with the architect of the Taj Mahal. This well-crafted historical novel swept me away to a Hindustan brimming with action and intrigue. This is a beautiful love story, and so much more.
