You might have noticed lately that many babies are being born on schedule. I've read about women scheduling c-sections to accommodate their work schedules or their doctor's vacation schedules. This is a modern development in childbirth. Tina Cassidy explores the history of how we are born, where we are born and who helps us get born. This is fascinating stuff. "Birth" is a very well researched and interesting book. I really couldn't put it down. There is a shift toward home birth and midwives in this country right now and this book really puts all of that into context.
