  by Anita Diamant

Set in a British "recovery" camp following release from the Nazi war camps, a group of Jewish women build friendships, fight their demons that come with being a survivor, and eventually are released to move forward with their lives. The author made me realize that the horror of their treatment under the Nazis did not end with their release, but continued to haunt them throughout their lives. Beautiful and bittersweet.   Reviewed by Gayle Wingerter
