The Chalet merchants are emphasizing "Going Green" in honor of St. Patrick's Day and keeping the Earth Healthy.
The WalkAround this Saturday, March 14, offers fun for everyone! The schedule includes:
- A display of "Going Green" books for adults and kids!
- Allied Arts Van is coming and kids can make musical instruments from
recycled household items. Come and make on or bring one from home (ie.
saucepan and wooden spoon drums?). After the instruments are assembled,
there will be a performance of The Chalet Place Splendiferous Junk
Band! Don't miss this! Great fun!
- Lots of great books on the sale cart to help you save green!
- Reusable totebags will be given away with purchases at participating
merchants and many stores will have sale tables full of great items!
- Wray's Grocery will be getting us in the barbecue mood for the season with their famous grilled hamburgers and hot dogs!
- Author DonnaJean Barton will share her books, Earthwalk and EarthwalkTwo at 2:00 pm
- Music! Talented local guitarist, Jim Henson will be playing from 11 to 1 pm
- More Music! Ken Hoffman & Co., will entrance the audience with his "melodious percussive steel" music and guitar accompaniment from 3 to 5 pm Ken plays the "hang," a most unusual instrument. Read about hang music and listen to a sample at wikipedia
Wear something green, come early and have some coffee while you stroll and stay for lunch. Come and celebrate spring with us!
