This author event at Inklings promises to be a very special evening, with fun, entertainment and refreshments.
Author
Molly Gloss's first book, The Jump-Off Creek, was a favorite selection
with book clubs. Her new book, The Hearts of Horses, is now in
paperback, and it has received wide praise. With an elegant sweetness
and a pitch-perfect sense of western life reminiscent of Annie Dillard,
Gloss's breakout novel is a remarkable story about the connections
between people and animals and how they touch one another in the most
unexpected and profound ways.
Northwest author Jane Kirkpatrick calls The Hearts of Horses "truly one of the best books you will ever read."
Molly
will
talk about her book beginning at 7 PM, followed by refreshments,
raffles, live guitar music by Jim Henson (8-9:30), and a chance to
visit with the author. This is a
perfect event for book groups to attend, as we will have sets of books
for some of you to take away for future reading. Don't belong to a book
group? You will have a chance to meet others who share your reading
tastes. There will be
giveaways for all: EVERYONE
will take home free books! Inklings will remain open to our guests
until 9:30 pm so that you can enjoy the author, books, entertainment,
and refreshments.
